Wind Advisory Remains in Effect Until 6 PM EST /5 PM Cst/ This Evening,
, Hard Freeze Warning in Effect From 3 AM EST /2 AM Cst/ to 9 Am EST /8 AM Cst/ Monday…

in the wake of a strong low pressure center and trailing cold front, very strong high pressure will build into the region. the gradient created over the local area in between the departing low and building high will maintain strong and gusty northwest winds into this evening.

this high pressure will continue to funnel a very cold and dry air mass across the local region tonight into monday morning.
temperatures will plummet to the mid 20S for at least 2 hours. this satisfies hard freeze criteria.

precautionary/preparedness actions…

a hard freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. specifically, temperatures are expected to drop below 26 degrees for at least two hours. these conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation if left unprotected

this wind advisory means that frequent winds gusts of 26 to 32 mph are expected. winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. use extra caution.
