A Dense Fog Advisory is Now in Effect for All of Southeast
Alabama, Southwest and South Central Georgia, and The Florida Big Bend and Panhandle Until 10 AM EST /9 AM Cst/ This Morning…

the National Weather Service in tallahassee has issued a dense fog advisory, which is in effect until 10 AM EST /9 AM cst/ this morning.

a large area of dense fog continues to expand northward from the florida big bend and panhandle, and is now entering much of
southeast alabama and southwest and south central georgia. this fog is quite dense and is becoming thicker over time which will make it harder to burn off after sunrise, which is why the
advisory has been expanded in time to 10 AM est/ 9 AM CST.
visibilities will be reduced to less than one quarter of a mile in most locations with pockets of higher visibilities making travel dangerous for the morning commute. after this fog finally lifts and burns off later this morning, partly to mostly sunny and warm conditions are still expected for the rest of today.

precautionary/preparedness actions…

a dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. if driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
