the National Weather Service in tallahassee has issued a
* severe thunderstorm warning for,
north central jackson county in the panhandle of florida,
southeastern houston county in southeast alabama,
extreme south central early county in southwest georgia,
extreme southwestern miller county in southwest georgia,
northwestern seminole county in southwest georgia…
* until 545 PM cdt/645 PM edt/
* at 454 PM CDT, the National Weather Service has detected a severe thunderstorm capable of producing half dollar size hail, and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. this storm was located 8 miles west of cottonwood, or 12 miles south of dothan, and moving east at 30 mph.
* other locations in the warning include but are not limited to hodgesville, sealy springs, lovetown, sills, grangeburg,
harmon, malone, bascom, crosby, two egg, lucy, chattahoochee sp, lovedale, buena vista, jakin, hornsville, steam mill and riverturn.
a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for the warned area. if a severe thunderstorm is spotted, act quickly and move to a place of safety in a sturdy structure.
