the National Weather Service in tallahassee has issued a
* tornado warning for,
northeastern geneva county in southeast alabama,
southeastern henry county in southeast alabama,
northern houston county in southeast alabama,
southwestern early county in southwest georgia…
* until 130 PM cdt/230 PM edt/
* at 1244 PM CDT, a developing tornado has been detected by the National Weather Service near slocomb, moving east at 40 mph.
* other locations in the warning include but are not limited to taylor, dothan, cowarts, webb, ashford and columbia
precautionary/preparedness actions…
take cover now! leave mobile homes and vehicles for safer structures. move to a hallway or closet on the lowest floor away from windows and outside walls.

I checked with the national weather service webpage – there was no indication of a tornado in this area. Where are you getting this informatoin?

Straight from the National Weather Service. Check the header at the top of the message. Warnings indicate a tornado is on the ground or is forming. Obviously, they don’t always hold together, but you should take every Warning seriously. Did you see the picture from Slocomb we posted after this Warning was issued?
