The National Weather Service in tallahassee has issued a

* severe thunderstorm warning for,
eastern coffee county in southeast alabama,
dale county in southeast alabama,
geneva county in southeast alabama,
henry county in southeast alabama,
houston county in southeast alabama…

* until 415 PM CST

* at 305 PM CST, the National Weather Service has detected a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. these storms were located along a line extending from ariton to 9 miles south of samson, or along a line extending from ariton to darlington, and moving east at 50 mph.

* other locations in the warning include but are not limited to level plains, geneva, fort rucker, ozark, daleville, newton,
hartford, pinckard, midland city, slocomb, taylor,
abbeville, headland, dothan, kinsey, cowarts, webb,
cottonwood, ashford and columbia

precautionary/preparedness actions…

this is a dangerous storm. if you are in its path, prepare
immediately. people outside should move inside a strong building but away from windows.
